LDN 673

Post by MariusD69 »

Hello!

"LDN 673 (Lynds’ Dark Nebula 673) is a highly fractured and very dense dark cloud complex of about 7 light-years across, located in the center of the Aquila Rift, some 300 – 600 light-years from Earth in the northern constellation of Aquila" (source: http://annesastronomynews.com/photo-gal ... dam-block/ )
It looks strange, like a scandinavian rune, a modern tattoo or occult sign.
I captured it during the last two nights, and I selected 36 frames of 5 minutes, although the astronomical night was only about an hour. For a high quality image, I should have more than 8 hours exposure, without LP. Too many nights for my patience.
Setup: newt SW 150/750, SW CC (0.95x), ASI294MCPro, IDAS LPS D1 filter.

Clear skies!

Very nice image Marius!

A very delicate target to capture and you managed an excellent image despite the low exposure and limited darkness.

Great work!

Great image, and I loved your description as well as the rationale to keep the integration time down. I completely understand this logic. :)
