ngc 6563 nii/ha/oiii

Post by yobbo89 »

had i used the title (ngc 6563 with a one shot camera) you'll probably believe me

I found this little hidden gem on stellerium and gave it a go ,pretty happy with the results , not much detail in the nii band,oh well.

I didn't use any flats ,they need to be redone and actualy they make my images worst atm . i can almost getaway without having them, there's some hot pixels in there, sorry :( , there wasn't alot of frames to work with or frequent dithers .

there's another target in the frame awsell, i'll let you guys/gals spot it out . i'll come back later with a plate solve, i actualy don't know what it is but it's in there .

1200mmfl f4 ,asi1600mm-c,chroma 3nm 2'' filters.

Hey Yobs,

I also found the blue disk last night and was so intrigued that I went and did the plate solve (at astrometry.net) on your image (hope you don't mind) and the blue disk does not show as any type of object. My guess is that it is some kind of artifact or other kind of flaw.

Cheers,
JT

Cheers, it's in all filters, I'll image the same spot again but at a different frame position to cancel out any possible internal reflections. But even with the small dither each frame is spot on, maybe the solve didn't pick it up?

Really nice close up view. Your long focal length brought out many internal details. Well done.

You also captured the surrounding nebulosity well too.
