Not sure I've ever seen M57 zoomed in as close! You have even caught some detail at the centre.

Excellent image.

Regards

Hi Mike I used a Skywatcher 80ed and eq5 tripod, the image details were 86 images at 25 seconds each which is 36 minutes of data.I heavily cropped the image to bring it up closer.I did try guiding using phd2 but did not seem to work as was giving me star trails.I erased the stars out of the image using adobecs2.I also used on the 183c camera a gain of 40 and 30 black level and pulled the histogram closer to the levels.
Thanks

That's a beauty Andy. You captured quite a bit of detail in the image. I used a process called UnsharpMask to bring out even more details and it worked nicely. If you like I could share the "sharened" image.

Nice work.

Hi Steve yes it would be very interesting to see,I do have unsharp mask in adobe cs2 but I only used smart sharpen on the image,if possible could you share the information on your unsharp mask technique.
Thanks

I use PixInsight and it includes UnsharpMask as one of the processes. The settings I used are shown in the image below. Hope this helps.

You're welcome Andy - These image processing programs can do amazing things.

Good luck with your Unsharp Mask "adventures".

Hi Steve I had a go using unsharp mask in adobecs2 and using a lasso tool for the middle to sharpen the centre.I dont know if I have other done the processing,so thought would give it a go and ended up with this image.

Looks good Andy. Using these sharpening tools is definitely an "art" and not a "science" kind of thing. Whatever looks good to you is the right amount.

Looks good to me.
