NGC 2244,aka caldwell 49/rosette nebula

I spent a few hours processing this, had large gradients due to moon and haze from bushfire,but i pretty much nailed my merge with the right distortion settings so coma is non affected in the seams which is a first.

The longest frame for a panel was 1hr 10 mins and the shortest is 25 mins ,on average each frame was about 40 mins.

Here is the 4 panel mosaic of rosette in sho ,8 hrs 40 mins total of all frames combined.

Thanks for the comments, I actually really enjoye this image as well, the soft colour to the blue works really well, gives a bit of a break from the electric colours typicaly seen with this target. The oxygen is the centre piece of this target so that's what I've highlighted in art perspective and keep the surrounding subtle.

I'm downloading starnet atm. i'll see if the readme gets me through to installing it, i think someone did a installation tutorial post somewhere on tss.i think steve was the name.

apparently i'm running v api 155 and it has been abandoned , i'll need to manually update and request for a new activation key. for 1.8.6

I gave starnet a go after i updated pixinsight and re activation.

some bright stars are still left, i guess i would need to do some histogram stretching or prior reduction to help totally remove them.

It took 8mins 55sec to compile a 59 megapixel (4 panel) image.ZZzzzzZZZzzz

The machine a little old in cpu power but still a work horse, 32 gb ram ,dual nvme drives in raid 0 ,skylake i7 6700 k 4 core 8 threads 4.2ghz . ain't no octa core though !

I might do a colour one when i play around a bit more in the future.
