What could it be?

The current 120mm run is complete, these are the last set of 120mm fluorite doublets from Agema Optics getting ready to be sent to the coating facility.
Does anyone have $4300USD + taxes they do not need at the moment? :D

Might a 'certain' young lady putting out feelers for her appropriate surprise birthday present for tomorrow?

If so, put me down for $10. So a mere $4290 to go.

I have been good this year! Mostly.... :)
Of course he had to set up shop to make these right after I took delivery of my Vixen.

If they did come with a guarantee of clear skies I would be trying to get the 150mm!

I am not sure how it will affect the Euro as UK still uses the GBP.
My retirement fund had better not go down because of this!

Nice! Hmmm, it would be a good replacement for my Celestron XLT 120 since the it's focal ratio F/8.7 is close to my XLT's F/8.3 ratio. However to pull it off I'd have to take out one zero in it's $4,300 price and tell her it cost $430 - hey, what's one zero anyway, nothing right

Great Idea :) Actually...she's never seen any of my receipts and.....I've pretty well lied about the prices of most of my equipment  Buuuuuut, I'm sure she's done the same regarding her ever increasing collection of shoes and purses over the past 34 years we've been married :D

Kind of expensive but $4300 is about 1/6 the price of a new car, so not too bad.

The Takahashi TSA-120mm is slightly more than the Agema 120mm, most of the “premium” refractors of this size are at this price point though the Agema is the longest focal length of the offerings.

Just paint the tube and rings of the Celestron to match the Agema, that way she will not notice the change over when the new one arrives!
