new telescope - are these markings bad?
Hey guys, I purchased the FCD100 80mm refractor from explore scientific, and the screws attaching the dovetail were stripped and it was lose (and I think they sent me a used one b/c it didn't come with the documents or wrapping...), so they had to send me another one.
I received the new one today, and it had these markings on the inside glass:
Is this bad? Do I need to send it back again?

Not to add to it James, but off it goes... that sucks. They should at least pay the shipping for you as well; maybe they'll be a little more diligent on the next one.
Sorry to hear and hope you get it resolved!

Re: new telescope - are these markings bad?
If it is an air spaced objective then it could well be fungus as John suggests or if it is a cemented objective, the glue is either breaking up or poorly cemented in the first place. Send it back.John Baars wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 9:52 pm Looks like fungus to me. Doesn't belong there. You'd better send it back.
