Altair Starwave 152 red tube
Took delivery of this a couple of days ago and not really had the weather to test it out properly.
I know it looks big for the mount but it seems to handle it ok

Re: Altair Starwave 152 red tube
A very nice refractor, I have always liked the red Altair has used.
The ASGT would be the minimum mount I would want to use with it as well.
Enjoy as you can
For a touch more stability I would flip your counterweights, smooth operation is easier with the largest weight closest to the mount then use the smaller to fine tune balance.

Re: Altair Starwave 152 red tube
It looks fantastic: still waiting for a report though!
I found some nice red metallic paint a while back and was planning to re-coat my Celestron 150 f5 (I am not keen on that rather ugly grey-blue and white colour scheme!). Just saw this post, and it has given me a bit more incentive to have a go...
I hope you have been enjoying the scope.
