g'day all, sometime ago i got a lathe to do some hobby work during out of order astronomy repairs, finally it's all setup and i have the correct tools!, i've been on some machining forums and learning all kinds of things, isn't too difficult as i have a metal trade background.
The idea is to get a very low profile barlow holder that can be stacked with other 42mm adapters, something much smaller then a typical 50-60mm stock one with the eyepiece holder and screw. this should help getting better f ratio adjustments on a sct
.
I still have to part it in half at the step down and machine the m42 mm 0.75mm male threaded end. i might have room for 2 of these ,might give one away if anyone is interested.
i measured everything myself and just guesstimation on the tolerance, and then just threaded it until it fitted correctly

done the other end, i learned this trick, add a clearway for the threading tool so you one can screw the adapter all the way against it's mating piece also avoids ramming the lather tool to the back of the stock you're machining .
I was going to part it in half but it was getting a little too late in the afternoon to be making noise,
i'll touch it up next week.maybe machine the threaded end down a bit more for a better hard stop on other items that have a shallow female threading
