This is my third motorcycle but is definitely my favorite.
I have a Ducati Monster 821, it just had its first track day a few days ago.
A lot of fun on and off of the track :)
Kind of old - definitely middle aged.

I live in a rural area, pretty decent conditions and even over 4000 feet. Never fails, 21 days of clear beautiful weather, until after last quarter. here come the clouds and maybe some rain. Shortly before first quarter it clears up, for 21 days, Happened 3 times in a row last spring. Finally got my DIY mount tuned just the way I like and I doubt it will be any better next year. But I hope...
I'm here to do two things, build something and dump some light down it.

8" f/6 Newtonian on a German equatorial mount, all DIY.
DIY 90mm f/10 refractor on old medium duty Edmund Scientific German equatorial mount.

3. a simple thing, an optics test bench, so one would think. But it is now four weeks since I requested a simple quote from the local engineering company. I ring or drop in and keep getting the run around. What can be simpler than a sheet of steel with holes in it????? Each day the surplus bench ( Melles Griot) is looking more and more like a bargain at US$3000!

...
What sort of bench do you need? Couldn't you make something? How about a photo or sketch?
