Went out for a couple of hours after dinner with the intention of bagging Kemble's Cascade. But as I was setting up my ST80, I noticed how nicely Orion was placed, so I thought I'd have just a quick look. Yeah...
Never made it to Kemble. Spent a couple hours just putzing around Ori, Mon, and a bit east - M42, Meissa (sp?), M43 (this time I'm pretty sure I got it with a filter), M35, M36, M37, Betelgeuse (still there!), Rosette cluster (no neb visible), Christmas Tree cluster, finished with the Praesepe. No luck on M78, but that's no surprise from home.
Oh well, the best laid plans and all that...

Scopes: Reflectors, refractors, and 1 catadioptric. Ranging in aperture from 50mm to 150mm.

Temp was 16 degrees F and falling early last night, so I wasn't out long, but I bagged Kemble with my ST80.
Distinctive but rather faint - lots of houselights from neighbors and reflections off the snow cover. I added it to my dark(er) sky list to have a look under better conditions.
I was able to see 4-5 stars in NGC1502 at 26x, a few more with averted vision.
