I have not been on this forum since Sunday night. It's now Wednesday, that's a record for me! Last Sunday Sarah and I went to see Sunny the dog, I took a few pics of a sundog (thanks for the comments, all) and we went home to a nice Sunday.
About 9PM that night, I was in the basement at the computer, when I heard a "gurgling" sound. Hmmm. I go into the laundry room, and I see some water coming from the drain in the floor. Funny that, we have a sump pump and a one-way valve over the floor drain. Well, long story short, the concrete gave way around the valve, and our sump pump failed. Why is my life like this?
So half an hour later, I was faced with this:
Yeah, the first things to get rescued were the scopes, especially the 10" with the base getting nudged with some nasty H2O. I then called a good buddy of mine who runs a company that deals with flooded basements. There was poop and all other sorts of nasty stuff with colors that are not found in nature coming out of the drain. He came over at 1AM with a helping hand and this:
10AM on Monday, my buddy left at about 6, and the city knocks on my door and informs me there is a sewer pipe that has burst due to.... Get this.... Baby wipes. I kid you not. I saw it come out. It was like one of those "fatbergs", except it was about twice as wide as a basketball, and about 20 feet (6 meters) long. And that wasn't including what me and my neighbors vacuumed up!
So I took Monday and Tuesday off work. Replaced some baseboard, washed everything, and the fans are still running. I could run this through insurance, but I'm good with stuff like this, and I know a lot of people The KISS factor....
All that to say, I needed a break on Tuesday night; 18 hours on dealing with this Monday, a few hours sleep, and cleaning up on Tuesday. About 10PM I decided to take out my Jason 80mm
Went back to work today, got home and back to it. Pretty much done, though, so since it was sort of clear... I must be tired, as I can't seem to get anything in focus...
The Jason while dodging the clouds:
And my C80-HD, when the clouds were mostly gone...
Alrighty, I'm done Must get to sleep; hope your day/night is a great one!
All the best,
