Before high clouds rolled in we had very crisp skies. Brought my little 80mm Orion short tube to my parents farm for kicks, and I'm glad I did. Bortle 7, observed with 25mm and 10mm Orion plossls.
Just before Jupiter dipped below the trees we could just barely make out very vague bands and a bright moon. Dont know which one
Saturn was gorgeous; tiny, but gorgeous.
M33 was a smudge, but Andromeda had a defined core.
The air between the 7 sisters and I was incredibly still, by far the best seeing I've had of then through this little scope so far.

Looking forward to the meteor storm tomorrow night. I've read 400 per hour.
Gear: Orion XT6 Dobs, Orion ST80, Bushnell 12×50 binos, 4-20×70 spotting scope of unknown origin, and at least one good enough eye.
Beautiful little report Steve! I've been using my ST80 as a travel scope, bringing it with me on trains to inter- and intra-state destinations. But it's been a while since I've done this, or doing any observing in general (need to get back into it).
Scopes: Reflectors, refractors, and 1 catadioptric. Ranging in aperture from 50mm to 150mm.
