My Sunny Sunday

#1

Post by Thefatkitty »

Today I got up at 8AM, and went to go see the dog, Sunny, that I take care of on Sundays. My Sunny Sundays :D

IMG_20190929_094606747.png

On getting back, it was pushing noon and there wasn't a cloud to be seen. So Sunny out.... Checked Spaceweather.com for the Sun, and not a sunspot to be seen...

I decided to see if my C80-HD was in focus, as I had nothing better to do. If the resulting shots enable you to pick out the feculae on our stars surface, I'd say that's a good focus :D

C80-HD f/11.4 with Baader solar film, 26 pics taken with my Canon T3 @ ISO 100 & 1/800 sec exp, PIPP, Autostakkert, ImPPG, and PSP 9 for the blue tint. I really like the Sun in calcium wavelengths.... ;)

Sun_10-13-19.png

And again, that's all I have. I'm really just waiting for dinner and hopefully a clear sky tonight for the Hunter's Moon!

All the best,
Mark

"The Hankmeister" Celestron 8SE, orange tube Vixen made C80, CG4, AZ-EQ5 and SolarQuest mounts.
Too much Towa glass/mirrors.

Solar:
H/A - PST stage 2 mod with a Baader 90mm ERF on a Celestron XLT 102 (thanks Mike!)
Ca-K - W/O 61mm, Antares 1.6 barlow, Baader 3.8 OD and Ca-K filters with a ZWO ASI174mm.
W/L - C80-HD with Baader 5.0 & 3.8 Solar film, Solar Continuum 7.5nm and UV/IR filters with a Canon EOS 550D.

That's a nice image of our local star. I'm waiting for the action to pick up and hoping that I'll still be around when it does !
