Hope your weekend was good or even clear. Mine was not clear, but my other half completed another orbit around ol' Sol, so that was cause for celebration. And I managed to keep tongue in cheek and a straight face with no sarcasm for the whole duration.
Yes, it was painful
Tonight I got in from work about 7PM. Was cloudy coming home, so I figured no scopes tonight. About 9PM, I took a look outside; so much for the clouds! I was really tired, but after reading Terry's reprot on his Tasco T3, I felt motivated to do the same with my Towa 3", and just for good measure and some pics of the Moon, I also took out my C80-HD on its CG4. However, the temp outside was 44F, so I need to let mirrors/cameras cool to ambient temps...
I put my 18MM Fujiyama KK lens in the Towa, and my Canon T3 camera in the C80. Went back inside, talked to the girls, and after half an hour, back out I went. Well, now there was high thins and white cloudy wisps. Really? I had a look through the Towa at the Moon, and it was still quite the view, even with the lousy seeing. Going over to Saturn, I actually had yet another "Wow" moment! I got my 12.5mm KK after that; I wish I could take a pic of the moments of clarity I had with this. Now it was 10:30PM. I set my C80-HD up for some pics of the Moon.
I took 25 shots each at ISO 1600 and 250th, 400th, 500th and 640th sec exposure, then ISO 800 and 200th and 250th sec exposure.
OK, now it's 38F outside, I'm in track pants and a T-shirt Time to come inside and do some processing. This was the best I could do with the lousy atmosphere; best of 25 shots at ISO 1600 @ 500th sec exp....
After that, I went upstairs to say goodnight/bonne nuit to the girls,
Alrighty folks, time for Thefatkitty to saw some logs...
All the best,
