I thought I would start a thread for what we plan to observe when this day's night is clear.
It is suppose to be an excellent viewing night here. Even the due point and temperature aren't suppose to get close. I'm thinking of doing an early night and a early morning viewing. Both of my larger EQ telescopes are down until next week so I will be using my 60mm refractor and 76mm reflector. In the early evening I want a better look at M8 and M22. I am still trying to figure out what to try an go after in the early morning M52, M15, M2? I'm looking closely at the Helix Nebula NGC 7293 in my book. Would that be attainable for me with my 60mm or 76mm?

Supposed to be clear and reasonable, but there’s a lot of high cirrus around right now.

If it’s clear, I’m going glob hunting in Sagittarius although that’s been futile along the bottom of the pot from home so far.

Supposed to rain tomorrow I think so pre-dawn is probably out.

Tonight went from excellent to well, not worth setting up. Big blob of white over us until 1am.
Ngc 5985, 5982, 5981- the Draco triplet galaxies are always on my list, until I find them.
In between Nu draconis and Iota draconis.

I think I made up my mind. Early evening like 10:00 ~ 10:30 I'll try for M22, M8, and M20. Then early morning like 3:00 ~ 3:30 I'll try for NGC 253 and if I'm lucky maybe NGC 247.
I just learned about the Galactic North and South poles today.

Watch the U and the Gators ... it’s 100% cloudy her in North Carolina.

Got skunked last night by clouds for what I wanted to see. Spent quite awhile viewing Saturn and Mizar. Looks like I may get another chance tonight for a better look at M22, M8, and M20.

Looks like the next 2 nights should be good here. I was just looking for tonight's quarry and something popped up. I might try to catch an artificial satellite. O3B FM2 International Designator 2013-031C will pass thru M20 starting about 22:02 according to Stellarium.

This was over 10 years ago. I wonder what can be done now?

I was just looking at Stellarium some more and O3B FM8 I.D. 2014-038D passes just under M20 at about 21:01. Then O3B FM2 I.D. 2013-031C goes thru the center of M20 starting about 22:02. Seems like this info might be useful in some way.

Last night I was going to try for Blanco 1 with my binoculars. I even slept in my cloths. When I got up to check it was cloudy
My plan for tonight is the same Blanco 1 with my binoculars.

I keep getting skunked, or its Wednesday and I got up early and not half asleep on Thursday.

Maybe Blanco 1 isn't a good target for me I can't even see it on Stellarium.

Stellarium doesn't always identify some of the more obscure or lesser-known catalogs.

I logged this open cluster back on 8 November 2017 with an 80mm refractor:

Comment: Well, not much to this one. In the RACI, I can pick out a large Y pattern, with the stem of the Y angled hard to the left. At the eyepiece, the widely dispersed stars offered little in the way of any discernible patterning. I need a wider field than my long 80mm has to offer. Perhaps another look with the ST80 is in order on another night.

I never did revisit with the ST80.

While you are in Sculptor, have a go at NGC 253. Nice galaxies and one of the brighter ones out there.

Tonight's plans..:.

Cut my toenails.
Trim my nose hairs. The hair coming out of ears too.

Or maybe I'll just go to bed.
Tomorrow I'll wax the hardwood floors.

Just another night clouded out....
No end in sight.

Be patient I'm sure things will be looking up soon...

Tonight is looking like it might be decent enough but I probably wont get much viewing done because I have to get up early for an appointment and I will be testing using a bar clamp to secure my telescope's azimuth. Hopefully the batteries in my camera are good enough to get a photo of it with its new decals. I think I'll put a jar lid on one of its focusing knobs today. The next 5 or 6 nights are looking good for viewing here.
