Heads up for the partial lunar eclipse this week. This will be almost as good as total with 97% of Moon covered by Earth shadow.

Unfortunately, our local weather forecast shows 100% clouds cover for the duration of the eclipse. I hope you will be more lucky!

I'm hoping you have better luck! For me it will start at 1AM, peak at about 4AM, and finish at at just after 7AM; everything will set at about 6AM though

I'm supposed to have clouds with sunny breaks all day tomorrow. A good sign; usually means a few clear patches throughout the night. I'll know more tomorrow. I'm already adjusting my sleep schedule in hopes of!

All the best and best of luck everyone; look forward to the pics!

Hi Andrey. For me it starts at 3:57 a.m. EST and reaches maximum eclipse at 4:02:56 a.m. EST. However, the weather channel is calling for rain here starting Thursday and lasting through Sunday. :( Thanks for your heads up post on this event Andrey and the very best of regards.

That's too bad Marshall, let's hope the rain pass by or be delayed a bit. :)

I am attempting to see the lunar eclipse also. I just hope the skies are clear. They are clear now, But I dont know how clear they will be on the 19th at 2:00 AM when it peaks.

I am in South Idaho, so the lunar eclipse peaks at 2:02 AM on the 19th here.

I will share a detailed report if I am successful.

Don't forget with the moon significantly dimmed, comet Leonard will be much easier to spot.

Drizzling here, and the CEM120 is still far from working.

Man, THAT is an extreme bummer!

I hope it clears up in time!

If not, that is OK. I’ve seen my fair share of lunar eclipses.

Here’s hoping!

Yup, up here at 83835 I have written the entire event off. In 3 hours it's supposed to start snowing and won't let up until midday tomorrow.

Clear skies here trending to above average transparency and seeing. 😊
Now I just need a gallon of coffee.

Time for my insulated Carharts and Fleece boots...

Anticipation is so much fun...
I hope to post up a nice photo of the event.

Sky willing !

I have been texting with my grandson to whom I had given one of the skywatcher F9 100 mm ed telescopes.
He lives in North Carolina and he has told me just now the skies are clear. He set his watch back one hour so that we could look at the eclipse at the same time.😊

Skies are not clearing up here. In fact, there’s a chance of rain tonight at the time of the eclipse.

This makes me depressed. I was really looking forward to this eclipse.

Oh well.

This is what I got with my DSLR and the same telescope.....I like my grandsons iPhone capture better.
We were texting back and forth while we watched the Eclipse and snapped our pictures.
