Lunar eclipse November 18-19 2021

This one snuck up on me, havn't been monitoring the astro news latley, i did grab some quick images while at work, it seems this eclipse was visable in the usa, newzealand, australia and a few other countrys both in the north and southern hemisphere .

Three of us from Culpeper, VA were out early this morning checking out the Lunar Eclipse and chasing meteors...Leonids and belated Taurids! Photo taken by member Donovan with his 12 inch Meade. Captured 20-25 meteors!

This is what I got with my DSLR and the same telescope.....I like my grandsons iPhone capture better.
We were texting back and forth while we watched the Eclipse and snapped our pictures.

Nice work everyone. Truly a collective effort to see/capture the lunar eclipse and worthy of the VROD to all involved. I personally was clouded out even if it was visible from here. So the honor goes to Bigzmey for starting the thread!

I regret to inform you all that because of rain and intense clouds, I missed the eclipse.

Oh well, I have seen my fair share. There will always be another eclipse someday.

We had high clouds last evening but the Moon shined through, so I thought not too bad. Woke up at 23:00 to a dense fog. Could not see a thing. But I enjoyed the eclipse through excellent images you guys captured, well done! Glad you managed to witness it and for those who did not there is always next time.

Hi all. Wow, some beautiful lunar eclipse images on this thread. I did get to enjoy watching an ISS fly by on Wednesday evening so I had high hopes for the lunar eclipse. However yesterday afternoon it was raining at 4 pm and then we had thunderstorms at midnight. Well, I got up at 2 am and the storm was over but still had a heavy cloud cover. A lunar eclipse is fun to view through naked eye, binoculars, or telescope. So being a good trouper I thought that the least I could do is go out and look and I took my dslr and telephoto lens with me at 3:45 am. I had nothing to show for this effort but very wet shoes from the grass and other puddles. Well, maybe I'll have more luck next time.

Some of it was visible in Finland just before the moonset - above Oulu (about 500 km north from here).
