Skunked by clouds

Last night it wasn't calling for a clear viewing night but I took a look to check and OMG I could not believe the clarity. It had not been that clear in a very long time so I put on my binoculars and by the time got back outside a layer of clouds had moved in.
The first time that I looked out I could see all of the stars that make up the SAGITTARIUS asterism. I was hoping to see M6 & M7 with my binoculars. I remember one year it was so clear that I didn't even need my binoculars to see them

Hopefully you'll have better luck next time. I had a similar experience the night before last when I noticed the sky was clear just after astronomical darkness had set in. I ran into the house and grabbed my 15x70's for a look at M4, but I couldn't see it next to Antares. I looked up again and wispy fog was blowing in, obscuring the view. Last night was foggy too, oh well.

I feel your pain Donald. :-)

Last night "ClearDarkSkies" told me I had a 2 hour window, supposedly, like the excellent one I had last Tuesday.
It did not happen, and I felt the frustration.
I do remember the delight when I was first able to see M6 and M7 naked eye...summer of 2017

That's what I call an astronomical fire drill. Way to practiced at that over the last year and a half.
