Took out my ST80 from about 2200 to 2300 last night although there were more lights on around me than usual. Only set up one light block curtain. I have to quit being lazy about that; I threw a towel over my head.

M25 - showed a small, faint core

M18 - small and faint
M17 - it was barely visible without my Lumicon filter. A far cry from how it looked last time I viewed it at a dark(er) site. NGC 6625 - couldn't see the cluster itself, just one bright central star.

At that point I was getting pretty tired, so I called it a night. Looks like it might be clear again tonight, so here's hoping...

My ST120 is relatively light, but there's just something special about banging out the 80mm. Quick pre-dawn look at the Pleiades, M39 and NGC654 today and then back to bed for an hour more sleep.
Just wish my home skies were darker...

I need an ST 80 or other 80 mm frac. My trend in purchasing is smaller scopes these days. Say grab-n-go.

I've been eying the Omegon 90mm, but with an 80 and a 120 maybe a 100mm would be better to fill the gap. Not sure I could justify buying another frac right now though.
