Well I must say I am getting excited.

I have my 6 inch frack in the bull pen. The power pack is on the charger. I will be a little under powered with the EQ5 mount but I will make due. The sky prognosis is very very good.

If things go as planned I will be under the dark sky at my favorite site by 10PM.

This will be my first outing in months. I will have a good view to Horizon from SE to SW.

Any requests ?

Hello Gabrielle. I am feeling a bit rusty on what kit to bring out.
I am planning on my 12.5 docter, TV 22 Pan , a 40mm Meade Plossl for widest field with this kit for scanning at 25X. I will also take a TV 2x barlow. The frac is my f6.5 ES152.

These will give me ExP of 1.92, 3.3, and an overkill of about 6.1 respectively in the widest fov.
I may bring my 10mm Pentax XW as well. I know this duplicates the coverage somewhat but it is different glass.

Any thoughts, comments or suggestions?

The sky will be Bortle 3-4
Trans "above average"
Seeing "average"
No near sky wind.
I am not sure what the situation is with the jet stream.

Best wishes for a grand outing. Keep in mind that Jupiter and Saturn are both in prime locations right now. And of course, all of those southern Milky Way globs just beg to be scrutinized.

It looks about average for Illinois. I found a site that indicates it will slow down over me early after 2400.

I am in the lower edge of that green zone.

Thank you. Yes ! Jup will be in fine position. Even with some color distortion from this frac I will enjoy the view.
