Report 003

#1

Post by Jnicholes »

Date of session: 7/2/2021
Time of session: 9:30PM to 11:40PM
Location: Dietrich, Idaho
Objects viewed: 6
Photos taken: 7
Telescope: 80mm refractor 900mm focal length
Eyepiece: 21mm zoom
Camera: Iphone 11, Nightcap app.

Note: Number of photos taken is NOT a typo. the extra photo is my first night photo for tracking Pluto.

Fixed my mount, and went out for an astronomy session to test it. Sure enough, it passed the test. Was able to locate 6 Messier objects and get their pictures. I now have a total of 17 different Messier object photos so far for the Messier AP challenge, which I accepted. Halfway to the 35 I need!

Pictures:

That is all for this report. Next report should be tomorrow, and I will announce if I succeeded or failed to track Pluto in that report.
