not much to see :(

Post by yobbo89 »

i'm not too well informed on what info is bad or not,but i know red means awful, it's been like this for a month or two, clear skys but alot of fog/dew , and star twinkle 60 deg up ,almost the same amount as if it were at 10 deg ..

1.5'' arc/pixel guiding ... on both sct and newt f4 , currently trying to image the saturn nebula on the sct at f10 and my last years image at f4 is way better in detail ... i havn't been imaging lately because of the seeing ..

I hope it clears up for the planets, they are just around the corner .

i wounder if it's from the jet stream from antartica

It's been yucky here also.
I have been able to do some solar in the mornings and the Moon has been decent in the evenings.
Just too much humidity in the air around here.
Clear Skies,

Yuck. I saw the Sydney area had some really cold temps and some snow last week, at least being up the coast a bit from there you didn't get that. (right? You didn't get that?)

Looks a lot like most of my nights last winter.
Now I don't care. It's so bright that you can easily read a newspaper outside in the midnight without any artificial light.

Hi Rob. It's been lousy here too here in Florida. Humidity at 85 to 90% everyday, and mostly thunderstorms to contend constantly. Here is wishing for better weather and clear skies for all of us soon.

I dont know if its just my imagination but the last few years has been much windier here in OZ. Im just south of Sydney in NSW and in years gone by we just had a week or so of big westerlies in September and in summer we always looked forward to the big southerlies that swept up the coast in the hot afternoons, but its all different now, besides the appalling light polution ,it is cloud and wind thats spoils my viewing and now of course cold and rain haha . When I first moved into this house nearly 40 yrs ago, my garden hose would freeze up on the front lawn and big white frosts were common most winters, and every few yrs we could see snow up on the mountains, and take the kids up to robertson to play in the snow but thats a pretty rare thing now... And summers were just hot every day, if it got up to 40c in our workshop we could go and sit in the crib room for a while haha And that was a big thing ! Because they run that place like a prison camp back then ...but its different weather every week now..
Ah sorry im dribbling on , remenising... anywayssss.
So for me in winter its just the occasional squint through my binoculars after midnight when I'm forced out of bed.
Jupiter and Saturn were looking great last night though !
