Not much of a report, but wasn't sure where to put this. Today's Sun and Moon. Captured the Sun at about 3PM, and a single shot of the 4% illuminated Moon at 8:30ish PM.
That blue dot at the bottom right of the Sun is the Earth to scale.

Hi Mark. A very nice solar image of the active region. And, your waxing crescent lunar image shows some surface details along the terminator, and this is hard to do with such a small target. Thanks for sharing these captures with us on here Mark, and keep up the great work.

I had a bit more time today when I got in, so I played around with the Moon shot. I stacked the 10 I took at ISO 800 and 1/30 sec exp, and it worked. I was surprised at that.
I ran the 10 images through PIPP in both color and monochrome, and stacked with AS3. These are the "meh" results respectively:

The Sun with Earth brought to mind when I, at the age of around 15, got the idea to make a picture of the solar system onto a wall in my room. And when I checked the scales, ...
I realized that it can't even be seen at once. If Pluto's orbit fits into the view, Mercury is too small to be visible. Not to mention, if Pluto's orbit fits in the wall, how to draw Mercury in scale?
If the wall was 4 m, and you use all the length for the average radius of Pluto's orbit, Mercury should be 3.3 um in diameter.
