Saw it again tonight. When will these cloudless nights end? About mag. (I don't know) as far as I can tell, dimming by the day.

Went to Lake Hemet, local dark sky spot, last night to watch for meteors. Got there early to tick off the comet. Stayed until moonrise, saw about 50 assorted meteors. Bad news on the horizon...I see a cloud.

Now as dim as the dimmest nearby star, which, as far as I can figure, is HIP 66567 in Virgo (I think) which is Mag. 7.8. I saw clouds today, but they left before sunset. Possible weather coming in this weekend. Streak is in jeopardy.

Well...without ceremony or fanfare (not even one lousy trumpet) the streak has come to an end. Weather has moved in. Many of you will bemoan the fact that, up here, even clouds are referred to as weather. The Neowise seen with binoculars streak ends at 25 consecutive nights. Even without clouds tonight was going to be very difficult without mounting the 25 x 100.

For me it seems neverending clouds - hot hazy days, followed by humid thudery nights - And as of yet no Neowise! Always wrong place, wrong time. I can be patient, reason to hang around for the next time. I'm sure they still do mumuification somewhere.
