Good photo mount heads?
Hey all,
I have an Orion Paragon XHD, I love the tripod, but the head lacks.
I was going to order an M1V for it, but that won't work for my binoculars.
Looking for something to carry a ST-80 and C90 Mak. The existing head is marginal at best.
Any ideas?
I suppose I could go to a good camera store and check out what they may have.

Re: Good photo mount heads?
Not sure if this would be a solution for you, but I bought an L-bracket from FLO for my binos to use with my M1V. It's a Vixen bar with a 90-degree arm with a 3/8-in setscrew. It holds my 10x50s in the right orientation on my M1V and
Truthfully, I didn't care for the bino-bracket-M1V-tripod combo, but others might like it. FWIW.

Yeah, I do own one of those brackets for my Vixen Porta Mount, not sure if there is anough room for my binos though.
I may go to a photo store and see what they have. I know camera guys have some big stuff on their photo tripods.

Fluid heads work well for binocular use or with scopes that are lightweight enough not to require excessive friction tension.
Here is an inexpensive unit:

Good luck.
