I have long considered my retirement present to myself, and I now have the bosses agreement. Second hand Altair 72EDF Deluxe with a 1x flatener. This got a good review (4.5’s all the way) in April’s Sky at Night and from Astrostace on YouTube. Going to take a deco at it tomorrow, quite locally with a real fellow astrophotographer.

All being good it will be in my hot little hands tomorrow.
Cheers,

Tony.

Good for you Tony :)

I still can't decide between an 80mm APO or a 16" Dob (with a ladder 😆).
That ladder part seems to push me towards the APO.

Exciting stuff Tony!

Will you be recommending you fellow astrophotographer friend for a TSS membership? :)

Regards

Graeme

Yep and I setup every time, and climb up garden steps to do it. For some reason a 16’ Dod lost it shine as an idea, quickly.

Also I like the simplicity of refractors. :twocents:
