Here it is in aluminium case I originally bought to put my PST in. However, soon after getting the PST I permanently mounted it on a tripod and the case has been sitting doing nothing.....until now

Excellent - fits great! Way to repurpose. I keep the tripod balancing rod a little loose so I can fold it over a bit to gain some clearance with the top of my case.

The skies were amazingly severe clear so at 10:30 this morning I loaded up the new binoculars and tripod and drove over to a nearby suburb's town park that had a pretty unrestricted view of some towers and a tall chimney with blinking lights. All about a mile away. Focus was quite clear, only one image in view. So far so good. Looking around the Western horizon for something further away I happened to glance up and at about 50 degrees I see this thing I think they call The Moon? Hadn't seen the rascal for a long time - lol - but I was pretty certain it was more than a mile or two away. Perfect for checking the new glass.

Anyway, yes it came into clear focus, I was able to see some nice crater details and only saw one image of the moon so I guess I got lucky for out-of-the-box collimation of my SkyMaster 20x80's? So.. Yay! Confirmation will come some evening when the gods decide we've had enough cloud cover.... but not tonight as more rains are forecast. Oh joy.

I can't take the blame for Your clouds Just the ones along the Gulf Coast. And these look like they'll be here a while.

I'd say try solar but no joy there either, just one holdover spot from SC24. I've got a pair of filters for my 15x70's but nothing to see and still no mount to put them on if there were.
