Dew and Your Binoculars

I have seen images of binoculars with dew shields. These shields are on the front lenses. What do you do about dew on binocular fixed/permanent eyepieces? Thanks to you all.

Keep them capped during the breaks. When you observe, heat from your face should keep them form dewing.

Happens on occasion. If they do, I wipe them with the lens cloth that came with my SkyMasters. Most of the time it is not an issue.

It doesn't happen very often. I usually put the binoculars under my coat, to warm them up. This can't be done with the really big ones of course.
Preventing is better, so I take care to have enough distance eye <-> eyepiece. Against ambient light (which is the next problem) I use a hood or my thumbs. It is an unstable balance between dew and ambient light.
In short: none of the solutions I tried is adequate.

What I have noticed is if the binos are cold, they will fog immediately when you put them up to your eyes. I believe this is caused by the heat radiating from your eyes. After a minute or two it disappears as heat transfers from your face to the eyepiece cups. If I leave my Wayfarers in my car in cold weather, they also fog up immediately until the frames and lenses warm up from facial contact. maybe 60 seconds or so. Bill
