Out for a "spin"

#1

Post by Mandrew »

Clouds finally parted for a few minutes, so I dashed out to try my new Oberwerk 8x56 glasses. Intermittent clouds, but high overhead I caught the Pleiades. Very nice Good contrast in these Binos. There is a quarter moon, so I checked it out. Very nice view, chromatic aberrations very minimal. Could make out very good detail, then clouds started rolling in again. Just getting out under the stars, even for a few minutes does me good! Binoculars are a lifesaver when the clouds are uncertain.

Binos are the ticket as you have shared here.

Glad that you had a nice session last week. Hopefully you will be able to get out with the new binos again soon.

Hello Mandrew. I agree with the above posts. I have 7x35 and 15x70 binoculars, and they are a great way to check your sky. And, don't sell the binoculars short, as they are still quite handy even after you have purchased a telescope.

In all honesty, even though I own some outstanding scopes, Binos are m “first line of operation” when I go out. I take the rest out when things are stable and not going to change for a while!
