My New Levenhuk 7x50 Binoculars Piggybacking

Tried the Bushnell H20 7x50 binoculars and was very disappointed. Ordered the Levenhuk Sherman 7x50 from Amazon, which arrived the next day. Just tried them out on some distant leaves. They are very sharp with no noticeable violet color, which really surprised me. With the Bushnells the violet color was very obvious.The eye relief is perfect. I decided to mount my new binoculars onto my Zhumell 20x80 binoculars. I will try them out tonight on Orion. Thus far I am very satisfied. Right click the images.

I have one of those in my parts bin. Now I know what I can use it for! Course, I have to buy a pair of 20x80s first...

That's pretty cool. I should mount my Bushnell 10x50's on my Obie 25x100's.

I am using the Barska binocular tripod adapter. My chin just barley touches the 20x80. This is something to keep in mind. For some people a longer tripod adapter may be needed.

Just tried them on Orion. The star Sirius was not pinpoint, but tight enough for my satisfaction, In fact, the brighter stars are tighter than the 15x70 LW Obies that I sold. The glass is very clear with no noticeable edge distortion. From my bortle 9 skies, I could see some of Orion's nebulosity.

Glad you found some 7 x 50s that you are satisfied with. Annoying to have to send the others back, but it all seemed to work out okay.
I haven't seen a setup like yours before. What do you find to be most useful about piggybacking the binoculars? Are you using the 7 x 50s kind of like a finder, to locate objects more easily due to their wider FOV, or do you just like switching quickly between the two different views? I often use my 8 x 32s along with my scopes, but handheld, and I would not have thought to piggyback them on either scope, so am curious to hear what you like about it. Thanks for posting photos!

I can enjoy binocular viewing an object at different magnification, and field of view without having to move to another mount. I also save $80 by not having to buy another mount.
