Any idea what these are worth? I was gifted these a while back and have never been able to find anything about them. They are very old as you can tell by the case and leather strap. Front & rear caps included.

FYI, if you do a Google search for Optica 11 x 80 binoculars, chances are your first on only direct hit is going to be my post asking the same question a while back on CN.

These 11x80 with the inscription JAPAN and sticker "passed" have been sold by vendors of second hand cameras for about 100 EUR.

New ones with some coatings, distributed in Germany by Danubia, achieve on the eBay prices around 150 EUR

They look identical to my Carton 11x80's. The "11x80" and "Field 4.5° is the same font too.
The ones JG has referenced have an identical case to mine as well. I understand that the Japanese company Carton were the manufacturers, but they were re-badged by others in a similar way to the Chinese Kunming binoculars now.
These were top quality in their day, and mine have excellent, very sharp optics with an unusually large "sweet spot", but they don't have modern ED glass, coatings and prisms; so they have a dimmer view compared to their modern counterparts. They have almost imperceptible CA in the daytime, even with the standard test of a small branch against the sky., and they give a very nice "3D" daytime view.
The last time I saw some advertised (on a NZ site a fews years back) they were asking around $A150.

All the best,

Dean
Telescopes: 12" f5 dob, Celestron CPC800, 150mmf5 Celestron achro, Tak TSA102, TV76, ETX125...
Binos: Steiner Wildlife XP 10x26, Swarovski 8x30 Habicht, Zeiss SFL 8x40, Vanguard Endeavour 10.5x45, Fuji FMTR-SX 10x50, Tak 22x60, Orion Resolux 15x70
Eyepieces: way too many (is that possible?), but I do like my TV 32mm plossl, 13mm Nagler T6, 27mm Panoptic and 3-6mm Nagler zoom, plus Fujiyama 18mm and 25mm orthos and Tak 7.5mm LE

@AstroBee there was an Optica b/c store in Oakland at 4100 MacArthur Blvd. Went out of business in the 1990's. I used to buy eyepieces from there on occasion. They were importers of high-quality optics almost exclusively from Japan which they sold under the Optica b/c brand.

I forgot to mention they also had a mail order business and advertised in Astronomy Magazine back in the day.
