I have a Farpoint Universal BinocularMount coming. It should ship this week.Seawolfe wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2019 2:46 pm At the recent (and last) Pixieland Star Party in Goldendale, Washington, I had the pleasure of looking through these exact binoculars that were mounted on an Orion parallelogram mount. all I can say about the budget issue is do what I'm doing.Save up.

One more sale - a woodshop wood cart/rack and I'll put the order in for the Binos. I've promised my wife I'll wait for my birthday in Sept to open it. She really enjoys birthdays, and with what she's been through with my stroke, I'm glad to go along.

Re: Oberwerk 25x100's Center or independant Focus?
The reason I went for the 20x65 over the 25x100's was the size. After talking with Kevin at Oberwerk a few times the smaller size fits my needs better since I want them to be carry on luggage size. I just got back from a trip and they were perfect to meet my travel needs.
What tripod are you going to get? The Oberwerk Series 5000 sounds like a good match.
BTW, my 20x65's are independent focus. That works fine for astronomical observing and most terrestrial viewing. In my opinion the center focus is better when you need to focus on something is moving fast, like planes at an air show. However you won't be doing that with the 25x100's anyway because of the size and weight.
Celestron Wedge, Canon EOS 7D
Oberwerk 20x65 ED Deluxe binoculars, Oberwerk 8x42 Sport ED binoculars, Oberwerk Series 4000 tripod with Series 5000 head, Oberwerk Series 2000 monopod (for airline travel)
