SynScan issues

#1

Post by Bigzmey »

I got Galaxy S10e phone for Christmas and it has a weird issue with SynScan app. It runs my AZGti mount fine, but exactly every 20 minutes SynScan drops connection to the mount. The WiFi connection stays on, just the app disconnects. SkySafari keeps phone screen ON, so it is not the phone lock issue.

It never happened with my old Droid phone.

Anyone encountered anything like that?

My Nexus II, SS+, and iPhone were dropping at random for awhile.

If your connection is dropping at a regular interval, I’m thinking there must be something scheduled/ running in the background. I’d check all your configurable / timing options. Good luck!

Maybe you need to make a micro payment to buy some 'boosters' or ask a friend on facebook for more lives!

Been fighting with it since morning. Tried gazillion things for no luck. Have two options now:

1) Use old phone - runs SynScan no problem, but SkySafary on this phone refuses to update solar system database, so can't hunt comets or asteroids.

2) Use new pone - SkySafary works 100%, SynScan works fine for 20 min than drops connection: (connect, 2 star align, observe for 20 min) - repeat

Oh the joy of computerized mounts!
