USB C and Skywatcher EQ-6r Pro

#1

Post by starfield »

Hi all.

I just got a new laptop to run my setup that uses the new USB C style ports. Went out the other night to try and hook it up to my EQ6R Pro thru the hand-controller. Neither SharpCap or PHD2 can see the mount. Windows is seeing the port as I can watch it pop-up in device manager when I plug it in. I loaded all the same drivers as my other machine (an older dell). Also swapped cables and made sure it was working. Machine has no problem seeing my camera.

At a bit of a loss on how to troubleshoot this. Wondering if there's an issue with USB C? Wouldn't expect this...but never know.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

So finally solved this. I needed to go into ASCOM diagnostics to enter mount/telescope info. Driver wouldn’t work until this step was completed even though it showed up in Sharpcap.
