Question - Sky Watcher EQ6-R Pro and SynScan, what to do if SynScan locks

I was out tonight working out some kinks with the SynScan Hand set. I was manually slewing to some area and started sidereal tracking and everything was working fine. My main problem with the unit from the previous session was that it thought everything was below horizon. I had my time zone offset off, it was set to 6 instead of -6. So I wanted to try Go To functions When I tried to Go To and it just said slewing and did nothing. I couldn't escape out or do anything, I wasn't even sure if it was tracking anythi8ng or not though my finder scope did indicate that things were moving off target. I eventually unplugged the unit from the mount while leaving power on the mount then plugged it back in. I told it not to perform a Polar alignment. The hardware version is 04.39.12. I broke every down and set back up in the office, skeeters were crazy tonight, and SynScan Go To slewing worked just fine.

So my questions is this, has anyone ever had that happen if so, how do you recover from it correctly?

Sorry Chris, I don't use SW. Some general advice, with goto, everything needs to be close to spot on - location coordinates, time zones and settings. You also need to make sure you have correctly ID'd the calibration stars for the two point model. If any one thing is off, the default is sometimes to do nothing rather than run the scope towards the ground or into the tripod.

As a general thought, any time you change your time zone in the hand controller it should require a power off power on reset with a complete new goto alignment.

Cheers

I had issues last night with my EQ6 pro.
It was acting crazy.
Kept wanting to crash into the tripod and would not align.

I discovered I was trying to run it in AZ mode...forgot to make the selection at the beginning.😊

I stopped using the hand controller and switched to synscan pro on the mini PC. The software acted goofy once or twice but after reboot the PC, the mount remembered everything. Never did figure out what I was doing to make the hand controller lock up...
