I recently bought a big dob... a strut 14.5" with good main optic - this made my XT10 somewhat redundant.
So...
I traded my Orion XT10 dob (2017) for an HEQ5 mount (2018) with a friend of mine in town. I will use it with the Stellarvue 70 for visual and AP.. should be a good match.
I fired it up last night, did a polar alignment, everything works well.
Kind regards,

My S.O. associate is a reasonable person, supportive, but her advice tends toward caution and that I must keep my total scope population below a threshold of 3 or so...
I like the big dob... it has ridiculous ability to pull in faint galaxies.
They are hard to hide!

3, that's a fairly unreasonable number. I talked my S.O. all the way up to a dozen as long as they are kept in their special spot in the garage so that it doesn't intrude into her stuff.
Anyway, congrats on the new member to your scope family.
Cheers,
JT
