Can a Celestron CGE Heavy Duty Tripod Be Made To Adapt to an iOptron CEM60 Mount?
The subject line is the question. I have been everywhere seeking a solution and have found none. Maybe someone on The Sky Searchers can help me. Attached is a photo of my tripod base. Thank you.

Re: Can a Celestron CGE Heavy Duty Tripod Be Made To Adapt to an iOptron CEM60 Mount?
I moved your topic over to this forum for obvious reasons.
I own both those items and the quick answer is no! Unless you have access to machining tools there is no easy way to "mate" that mount to that tripod. I wound up buying the TriPier tripod for my CEM60. I'm glad I did because it is rock solid!
Cheers,
JT

Re: Can a Celestron CGE Heavy Duty Tripod Be Made To Adapt to an iOptron CEM60 Mount?
Thank you for your answer. That is probably what I'll do, buy the Tri-Pier Tripod. Sure was trying to avoid that solution since it is so expensive. A metal plate adapter would have been so much cheaper. I bought the iOptron Pier Top Plate for CEM60 mounts, 8032PT, but I don't see how it mates to the tripod. Will have to return it.
