Connecting hardware thru CEM 60 USB ports

#1

Post by JeffBevan »

Am I barking up the wrong tree? I am trying to hook my imaging camera and guide camera to my computer thru the USB ports resident on the mount. I have the computer talking to the mount thru APT & PHD. I am not getting any communication or connecting going on. Sure I can connect each directly to my computer and get connection/recognition but what is the point of the USB ports on the mounts?

While I'm waiting for the weather to clear I have started to look into how to best utilize the USB ports. The manual does not really elaborate on how they are to be used. It appears that your accessories are too be connected to the ports on the DEC axis, and your computer is connected to the USB port on the RA under the polar scope cap. I'm not sure if that is correct though. Is this how you have your cables set up?
