iOptron Mounts and iPolar
In the instructions on use of the iPolar camera and iPolar software, it shows an initial set up with the mount pointed in 3 different positions
So in position one (on the left), is that configuration to the east or west of the polar axis? They never say which side of the polar axis to use first, nor say if these positions show looking at the front of the scope or from the rear. Or does it make a difference?14.5" f/5.3 Starmaster with Sky Commander XP4 | 9.25" Celestron SCT | 8" f/7 Starmaster (only 5 made) with Sky Commander V3

Re: iOptron Mounts and iPolar
Have you sent iOptron a email about this?
It seems they are quite good at responding to things like this.
Good luck with the question

Re: iOptron Mounts and iPolar
Hi Bonner - I have the iOptron iPolar on my CEM40 mount. It doesn't matter what order you take the images. It's just important that you take one image with the RA axis rotated to the left, one in approximate zero position, and one with the mount rotated to the right. The software will sort out which is which.
