iOptron CEM70 Finally arrived (Photos of back)

Hey all,

I finally got my iOptron CEM70 after a 2 month wait. I have yet to use it due to weather (Go figure). I did have a chance to hook it up to the Ascom and seems to run smooth. I got to get used to the locking mechanism. I will get it a nice test probably Wednesday night if its clear and see how it does with a C11. Gona stick my DSLR then move on to Mars. I will be able to test it with my new refractor hopfully by the weekend if not then next week.

I did notice that the wires that they show in the stock photos hanging loose, now come with a black nylon wrap. But still thinking of a way to secure it more maybe just Velcro and make a plastic cover for the back.

Here are some photos of the back. I was always curious of what color it was. It looks navy blue in the photos, but it is Black.

That's a nice solid looking piece of kit.

I hope you have many happy hours together!

Congrats on the new mount. I hope you have it up and running quickly without any hitches.

I'm seriously considering trading in my CEM60 for the 70. I wonder how much trouble I would get in. It might be worth it.

Cheers,
JT

Thanks all :)

Hopefully, the skies will be good soon. Tomorrow night looks like I may have a decent chance. I will probably try this out first. It is the New ZWO Mount for the 1600/294/183 size ect.. and I got a ZWO Eos EFW adapter. I put this together in case the mount didn't come in time so I had something to image DSOs with until I got the new refractor. The cannon 75-300mm lens is attached but I plan on getting a Rokonin or Samyang 115mm or something like that for it and piggy back it.

I also had to settle on a Meoptex guider from Amazon lol It. I couldn't afford any more at the time. it was $49.99 and I had $25 amazon giftcard. But will just test it out for the fun of it. Then this weekend I will thow the C11 on it and see how long I can go unguided with it.
