I currently have an AVX that was given to me. I don't have an OTA for it yet, I'm looking at getting the Esprit 100ED for this mount. Will be adding a guide scope and using my DSLR for imaging.
Does anyone have a similar configuration or is this configuration not a good match. I will also be upgrading the hand controller to a newer one with the usb port on the bottom instead of the HEX for controlling the mount via windows.
Any input that you may have would be welcomed.

As long as you are mindful of the extra gear weight you'll be adding, it should work well for you. The AVX max payload is 30lbs, the 100ED weighs in at 16lbs so you are already a little past the 50% target with just this OTA as payload. If you can keep everything else from going over 20lbs (18 would be better) you should be okay.
I run an AVX with an Explore Scientific ED102 with an Orion magnificent mini autoguider and Nikon dslr. I figure my weigh is just under 15 lbs total.
The mount runs well (typical AVX) and I get nice images. I would expect that you will also! Good luck and please share your experiences here so that we can all learn!

I run a 102mm f/7 APO and a 60mm guide scope on my AVX. I use CMOS cams in lieu of a DSLR, though. As long as I am careful with my balancing I usually do ok.

Thanks everyone, I estimate the weight that I will be putting on the mount to be less than 20lb, 16 for the Esprit 100, 2.02 for my D850, + field flattener, T-Adapter, Guide scope. So I think i'll be safe not over loading the 30 lb capacity of the mount. Did I miss anything?

Just so that you can understand the numbers that we're bringing up. We shoot to not go over 60% of the maximum payload of the mount. In the case of the AVX that's 18 lb. It doesn't mean you can't load it higher than this but it means that you will experience problems because the mount is just not heavy duty enough for precision guiding as you increase the weight past 18 lb. These problems manifest themselves as an image that shows poor guiding i.e. your stars are not round. This typically means you have to throw away that image as not usable. If this happens enough times during an imaging run it gets pretty frustrating.
