Hi everybody!
I’ve been thinking about using a Nexstar SE4 for lightweight take it with me setup. I’ll be using it in EQ mode with an ASI533MC pro camera for beginner AP. First of all is it a bad choice to begin with and secondly I’m using Asiair pro on my big setup, will it guide the SE4?
I guess it would depend on what you are planning on imaging.
A Maksotov has a very small FOV so large objects will be a problem.
Should be good for some lunar surface images and planets.

Will Asiair work on it?
I do not know what Asiair is.

Ahh voodoo stuff
You would have to either look in the specifications of the mount to see if it is compatible or contact OPT.

What Gabby says. Moon and planets should be OK. I don't believe it will work for galaxies. Due to long focal length you will have to do long exposures. I don't believe the mount is stable and accurate enough to do it. However, if you already have it give it a shot. Part of the fun in this hobby is to fool around with equipment.
Your ability to accurately guide with this setup is limited. And you need VERY accurate guiding for imaging smaller fainter galaxies. This mount will work best (as previously noted) for planetary/lunar imaging. It will work "well enough" for nightscape (wide fields) images with a camera only attached to the mount. The reason being is that it is quite difficult to get an accurate polar alignment with this mount. And you need a VERY accurate polar alignment to do the imaging you are seeking. Remember that the worse your polar alignment is, the worse your tracking error is.
