I wanted to use a smaller guidescope, but couldn't justify buying a whole new one.
I seldom use my 70 to 300 kit lens so devised a back cover by cutting a hole and glueing a nose piece on and screwing a webcam on the back. Some small elastic band stopped the focus ring and zoom ring slipping.

Woorked great.

I'm doing the same thing using store-bought adapters and spacers using my ASI120MC. I want to use mine as a polar scope.
