Super Simple FireCapture Question

#1

Post by bigfish »

Can FireCapture autoguide on a Lunar ROI?
I can only fit some of the moon in the FOV. I know I could just try it next clear night but that might not be until October.
Thanks!

Can someone please explain to me why you need "guiding" for planetary/lunar imaging? If your tracking is working sufficiently well and you have the correct tracking speed set, whether you have an EQ or Alt-Az mount, you shouldn't need guiding for the short duration videos we shoot for planetary/lunar imaging. Also, we have software that will center up any object that you choose as the object of interest -- PIPP.

Cheers,
