Question about astrophotography
Hi all,
I have managed to take pictures of the moon thru my new 6SE using aDSLR attached to the tube via a Celestron to Nikon adapter and they turned out to be fabulous. However, i realised that with the current set-up. I wouldnt be able to get an even more close-up pictures of the crater, etc. like i visually can see thru my eyepieces. There is no way to do a manual zoom via the camera nor use my higher powered eypieces with my set-up. So how does one do a zoom or get higher magnification in astrophotography? The moon is great but I am planning to take pictures of the planets and some DSO ’S and these ones are even smaller than the moon via telescope. Will appreciate any advice. Thank you

Re: Question about astrophotography
The simplest method is to buy a 2x or 3x Barlow lens. So instead of inserting your camera directly into the visual back of the telescope you'll insert your camera in the Barlow and then the Barlow in the visual back of your scope.

Re: Question about astrophotography
Thanks, Jaytee. I’ve got a Barlow lens in my kit and will try it next time the skies are clear.

Re: Question about astrophotography
The other idea is to use another device. I use a Bresser Electronic Eyepiece but higher end versions can take longer exposures.
