I took this shot with just a DSLR at 300mm focal length, ISO 100 and 1/320 second exposure. Just to prove that you can still do shots without a big budget.

I use stacking for some shots but not usually these. I normally take about 15 to 20 shots and adjust the focus between shots. My plan is to have 1-3 shots with near-perfect focus. Getting perfect focus on a small lunar disc is very hard, so I don't expect to get enough shots to stack.

Will your camera shoot video? I think that's how a lot of people do it with lunar / planetary imaging.
Shoot X amount of frames of video then run it through Registax or Autostakert! and stack the best maybe 10% of the frames.
