2019 Contact Information for Astronomy Clubs in the U.S.

#1

Post by helicon »

Here is a list of most of the Astronomy Clubs in the U.S. It’s a great idea to join your local club or society to meet new folks, hone your techniques, and get a chance to attend lectures and star parties. Just click on a state link to find a list in each state. Usually there is an address, phone number, contact e-mail address, and website.

Gordon, this one doesn't appear to be in the list:

Astronomical Society of East Texas (ASET)
website: http://www.asetexas.com/
email: info@asetexas.com

(I must confess to not being a member despite them being local to me, but I've considered joining.)
* Meade 323 refractor on a manual equatorial mount.
* Celestron C6 SCT on a Twilight 1 Alt-Az mount

You don't seem to be too far from the Starlight Astronomy Club at Altoona, though that will depend on your travel options.

I have also seen reference to a Pitt-Johnstown Astronomy Club ( or at least there may have been one in 2011), so you could check out U Pittsburg at Johnstown.
