Ontario telescope has a baader hyperion 13 or 17mm on sale for 155...that might be in the budget

The 17mm is sometimes considered one of the best of the series, they work very well in telescopes slower than f/ 7 which is good for your slow f/ 15

Re: Meade etx 125 eyepiece selection
Out of curiosity, what would make one lense a better fit than the next?
Ie why did the previous poster say the luminous would be no good in my scope and likewise the hyperion be a very good fit?
In other words how is the lense effected by the speed of the scope?

Re: Meade etx 125 eyepiece selection
Some eyepiece designs work better with different telescope designs, about the closest thing to a universal eyepiece would be the modern Plossl which is really a symmetrical eyepiece.
Once you start getting into larger/ widerFOV eyepieces there are more elements, harder curves and aberrations have to be balanced out so a trade off.
What works well in a mid to slow refractor may not work well at all in a fast Newtonian.
As an example, Masuyama eyepieces are designed for telescopes off/ 7 or slower. This is where you will get the best edge to edge view.
In a faster telescope you lose edge performance, the view softens/ blurs, stars may start looking like streaks or you may see objects start going egg shaped as they get further out for center of view.
