Looks like a nice scope. The diagonal and focuser are 1.25", right?allisonribeiro wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 1:20 pm It is an EQ4

From the first image you posted it does look like it is so may not work well with 2" eyepieces.
A focuser upgrade may be required in the future depending on what you want to use it for.

Hi I was wondering what 10”Refractordude wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 6:14 pm Welcome back and that is a great profile image. I have a 150mm f/8 refractor which is super sharp some times 300 mag on the Moon. However, before galaxy season is in full swing I will be purchasing a 10" DOB to go deeper. I suggest a cooling fan for your DOB. Left click the image.
I ordered a 10” Apertura AD from High Point Scientific( it has a cooling fan included) but I’m awaiting its arrival at the end of this month as it is back ordered.
I only ask because I was going to buy an 8” as it was in stock but cancelled that and ordered the 10” and I’m glad I did as it went up in price to the tune of $100.00 in less than three weeks!
Equipment :
Apertura AD10” Dobsonian
Polaris 4” Dobsonian
7x50 binoculars

The Orion 10" classic. Most likely the same scope. Lady Fraktor would know.Frankskywatcher wrote: ↑Tue Feb 01, 2022 4:04 pmHi I was wondering what 10”Refractordude wrote: ↑Thu Jan 20, 2022 6:14 pm Welcome back and that is a great profile image. Re: Thinking about going from mirrors to fracs…
The Apertura also uses enclosed ball bearings and very good tension clutches. Hard to beat for the price.
The Orion is a great choice as well though the bearings are made from PTFE and UHMW (teflon and polyurethane)
