Confirmed the diagonal is removable. The current owner barely used it, he is a soccer player from Real Madrid :) . Seems the scope is in mint condition.

Allison is it possible to get a close image of the focuser like this?
IMG_2646.jpg
Also there should be a sticker with the model number somewhere around the focuser.
If you can get that it will be very easy to find the details about the refractor.

I was hoping to see if this is the version with the plastic focuser but cannot really tell from the image.
From the first image you posted it does look like it is so may not work well with 2" eyepieces.
A focuser upgrade may be required in the future depending on what you want to use it for.

As a completely "left field" suggestion, have you considered a pair of big binoculars? Great for those quick sessions in between parenting duties.

However, before galaxy season is in full swing I will be purchasing a 10" DOB to go deeper. I suggest a cooling fan for your DOB. Left click the image.

Hi I was wondering what 10” dob you were interested in purchasing ?
I ordered a 10” Apertura AD from High Point Scientific( it has a cooling fan included) but I’m awaiting its arrival at the end of this month as it is back ordered.
I only ask because I was going to buy an 8” as it was in stock but cancelled that and ordered the 10” and I’m glad I did as it went up in price to the tune of $100.00 in less than three weeks!
Gee if I had known there was so much to see I would have started decades ago ! :Astronomer1:

Equipment :
Apertura AD10” Dobsonian

Polaris 4” Dobsonian

7x50 binoculars

The Orion 10" classic. Most likely the same scope. Lady Fraktor would know.

The Apertura is made by Zhumell and the Orion by GSO, both are very good but the Apetura comes with a fan already.
The Apertura also uses enclosed ball bearings and very good tension clutches. Hard to beat for the price.

The Orion is a great choice as well though the bearings are made from PTFE and UHMW (teflon and polyurethane)
